Horace Renfro Obituary

Horace Avery Renfro Sr.
AMERICAN FALLS - Horace Avery Renfro Sr., was born June 20, 1921, in El Segundo, California, to Jessie Millard and Lydia May Renfro. Horace returned peacefully in his sleep to our Father in Heaven on August 24, 2009.
He was the husband of Emma Renfro, father of Horace Avery Renfro Jr. (Elaine), Shelley Aunette Crane, (Gary) and Emma Patricia Nye (Bret); grandfather to 12 grandchildren and great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.
Horace loved to work in his garden and with his roses. He loved to hunt, fish for the perfect rainbow trout and spend time with his family. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and married the love of his life, Emma.
Horace served in the armed forces in World War II, serving in nine European African campaign tours and received five medals through his years of service including the Croix de Guerre, which is the highest medal awarded in France.
Horace was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, five brothers, (Earl, Winfield, Carl, Frank and Robert), three sisters, (Jesse, Ruth and Daisy).
He is survived by his brother Bernard, and his children.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, American Falls Third Ward, 650 Pocatello Ave., American Falls. The viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, at Davis-Rose Mortuary 170 Idaho St., American Falls and from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the American Falls Cemetery.
