Paul Pasley
POCATELLO - Paul L. Pasley, age 79, of Pocatello, died Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Portneuf Medical Center of natural causes.
He was born on September 10, 1930, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Joseph A. and Eva Sarah Wright Pasley. He was raised in Oklahoma and moved to California to complete his high school education in Berkeley. He took up boxing and in 1947 he was the recipient of a Golden Gloves Award.
He returned to Oklahoma to begin his career, which took him to Montana, where he met his bride, Linda Best. They were married on May 11, 1950, in Lewistown, Montana. From there they continued their journey together across the Western United States.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling but most of all spending quality time with his family and friends.
He was survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda; brother, Roy Pasley; five children, Deeny (Tim) Yarbrough, Robert (Pat) Pasley, Sherry (John) Hinckley, Jeff (Veronica) Pasley, and Lisa (Erik) Mickelsen; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandbabies. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ray, Jack and Bill, and granddaughter, Jamie.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009, from noon to 4 p.m., with dedicated remembrance and sharing time beginning at 2 p.m. at the home of Bob and Pat Pasley, 13604 N. Marble, Pocatello, 208-238-7473.
