Herbert Ramey Obituary
MONTPELIER, Idaho - Herbert Martin Ramey, 65, passed away at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 25, 2010. Herb was born in Montpelier, Idaho, to George and Clevonia Ramey. He lived and attended school in Paris, Idaho.
Herb joined the U.S. Army Reserve in April of 1963, and was honorably discharged in April of 1964, when he joined the U.S. Air Force, in which he served honorably until returning in August of 1984. While in the service Herb received a Certificate of Merit as Best Chief of Supply Squadron, Strategic Air Command, in June 1969, and the Air Force Commendation Medal in March of 1979, along with numerous other awards during his tours of duty in Korea and Germany.
Herb was active in the Boy Scouts when he returned home. He was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman, with a true love of the outdoors.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother George Jr.
Herb is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, Dennis (Rebecca) and Timothy Ramey; sisters, Hellen Taft and Betty Oyen; brother, Lloyd (Tammy) Ramey, and 6 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Matthews Mortuary Chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
