Jerry Keith Reeve, age 77, died peacefully from Parkinson's disease April 27, 2013 at Caring Hearts Assisted Living. His wife, Pat, was by his side. He is survived by Pat, his children Barbara (Skip) Schmiett, Michael (Amy), and Nicole (Lee) Bradshaw, seven adored grandchildren; Mikaela, Pierce, Sam, Aidan, Dane, Annika and Boden, and his sister Marilyn (Shayne) Dedman and three nieces, Terri Gazdik, Pam Swarts and Jill Wilson.
Jerry was born to Frances and H.W. "Dusty" Reeve in Idaho Falls on August 21, 1935. He attended the two-room York school, Idaho Falls High School and the University of Idaho. Jerry met Pat while working on a homecoming float. They married June 11,1957 after he graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. They started their life together in Richmond, California, where Jerry worked for Standard Oil Company before he reported to Ft. McClellan, Alabama, U.S. Army Corp. He was discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. They moved to Soda Springs, Idaho, where Jerry was a chemical engineer for Monsanto. The family moved to Pocatello in 1979 when they purchased Tyhee Home Center and Jerry built a career in construction and as an environmental engineer.
Jerry always had a project underway at his home in Pocatello and at the Blackfoot Reservoir "ranch." He enjoyed travel and was always ready to go. He loved bowling, fishing, family reunions, time with friends and family, and driving his grandchildren around on his tractor. Jerry was past president and 50 year member of Lions clubs, serving a number of years on the sight and hearing foundation board.
A funeral services conducted by Don Paulson celebrating Jerry's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 248 N. Arthur Ave, Pocatello. The family would like to express gratitude for the caring services of Cree, Christie, and Brittny while Jerry was at home.
