Gay Welch Obituary

Elizabeth Gay Welch 1922 - 2012 Elizabeth Gay Perkins Welch 89 of Brookfield, Wisconsin, passed away March 5, 2012 at her home. Gay was born September 21, 1922 in Seattle, WA to Seth and Catherine Perkins. She journeyed to California in 1957 where she met her future husband, L. Dean Welch. They were married April 27, 1958 and on February 3, 1960 they were blessed with a daughter Caroline Gay. Gay was a wonderful homemaker, mother and wife. She made sure everything was taken care of, so all Dean had to worry about was work. Wherever they lived Gay became involved in the local Episcopal Church. Gay was very well read. She traveled to the Orient, South America, Europe, The Baltic's and England. Her love was England and its History and Traditions. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her only daughter, Caroline who lost a battle with Cancer in 2008. Survivors include her husband, L. Dean Welch of Brookfield, WI; two sister-in-laws, Jan Welch of Boise and Thelma R. Welch of Emmett; and 17 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Emmett. Burial will follow in the Emmett Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to a cancer research group or to a charity of your choice.
