Albert Stephens Obituary

ALBERT "ALBIE" STEPHENS
1923 - 2013
Albert "Albie" Stephens passed away February 14, 2013 at the Idaho State Veterans' Home, whose staff has taken such wonderful care of Albie the last couple of years. The entire staff is professional, compassionate, and always went the extra mile to ensure Albie was comfortable. A very special thank you to everyone on 2West. Albie was born on January 11, 1923 in Great Falls, Montana. He graduated from Kemper Military School and enlisted in the Army. He served as a paratrooper in the 507th PIR, 82nd Airborne. Albie participated (jumped) in D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge and in Germany as part of Operation Varsity. After the war, Albie pursued an education in Engineering and worked as a civilian contractor in Vietnam, owned and operated a tavern in Longview, Washington and lastly in his career, he worked as a Project Manager commissioning hospitals overseas and in the United States. Albie is survived by his wife, Eva H. Stephens, his children, Craig Stephens, Leslie Clayborn and Mark Stephens, his stepchildren, Kelly Maier, Richard Graham and Deborah Graham and his son-in-law, Michael Maier. Albie had a tremendous sense of humor and everyone loved being around him. He was always the life of the party; one of his favorite sayings was "If one is good, two is better." He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
