Donna Marie Higgins, age 79, passed away on August 4, 2014, in Boise, ID. Donna passed away after being hit by a car on her morning walk.
She had moved to Meridian, ID in April of 2014 following the death of her husband, Jim Higgins, to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.
Jim passed away in Sun City, AZ of natural causes. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Edna Crump-Horn and Lester Horn.
Donna was born in Seymour, MO November 23, 1934 to Lester and Edna Crump-Horn. She graduated from Seymour High School in May 1952 and married Jim Higgins in December 1952. They moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1961. Donna and Jim adopted their daughter, Shannon Marie, June 20, 1967.
Donna enjoyed spending time walking, going to the swimming pool, church, her grandchildren, and making new friends. Donna was known as the "walking Lady". She walked many miles in her lifetime. She volunteered at her local church. Donna was loved dearly by her family, friends, and community.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Fontenot, grandchildren, Ashley, Monique, and Loudan. Great-Grandchildren Isabella and Payton, her brother Dale Horn and nieces and nephews.
Donna and Jim were married for 62 years, spending most of their adult life together. They died 4 months apart and will now spend the rest of their lives together in eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Services will be held Thursday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m at Meridian United Methodist Church in Meridian, ID.
