Harold L. Breshears, 90, of Parma died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at a Nampa hospital. He was born September 29, 1923 in Boise to Clarence and Inez Breshears.
Harold attended school in Eagle. He entered the Navy in 1941 serving as a gunner on a merchant marine tanker. After being discharged in 1946 he came home and went to work on the Breshears and Pittenger Ranch at Horseshoe Bend, Idaho. He rode bucking horses at the Amateur Rodeos around the valley in the 40's and 50's.
In November of 1957 he married Ina Biggers. They had 3 sons, Joseph Harold, Kelly James and Lee J. Breshears. In the fall of 1965 he joined the Fish and Wildlife Service as a Predator Control Officer. For health reasons he retired in 1988 and continued to raise calves and hay on his 10 acres in the Ten Davis Community until a fall that broke his hip made him retire.
Harold was preceded in death by his son, Joe, his parents and sister and brother. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ina; sons, Kelly (Melody) Breshears and Lee Breshears; grandchildren, Christy Baker, Eric Lauritzen and Nicole Schwark; five great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26 at the Sweet Cemetery in Sweet, Idaho. Services are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett.
