John Mark Bangerter

John Mark Bangerter
1951 ~ 2013
John Mark Bangerter died of cancer on October 27, 2013 among loved ones at his home in Oakland, California. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, he earned an MFA from the University of Utah, and exhibited his art around the world. He was 62 years old.
Mark's life's work, to which he dedicated his soul and body, spanned the arts from painting and sculpture to literature and film, and grew from his illimitable character and a life that seems cut from legend. But wherever he went, he carried with him the hopes, concerns, and love of his many loyal friends, who will continue to cherish his wit, ingenuity, talent, hand, and heart. Those friends, his seven siblings, his sons Jack and Nels, and their families are all thankful that they could be a part of this journey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home at 1205 W. Bannock St. in Boise, Idaho, to be followed by a celebration at the Neurolux lounge. In memory of Mark, contributions may be sent to the Homeless Action Center of Berkeley, California.
