William Michael Lidik, 75, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014. He was born December 18, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Louis and Orma Lidik. Following his graduation from high school, Bill enlisted in the Army and served at the Pentagon. He then went to work for the railroad in Chicago. He moved his family to Boise, Idaho in 1967 and settled in Meridian. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement.
As a young man, Bill loved to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing in Wisconsin. His love of outdoors continued when he relocated to Idaho; often taking his family on hunting, camping and fishing trips. In his later years, he took great pleasure in traveling with his friend Randa to Hawaii, The Bahamas and finally Alaska. Bill had a big heart, a great sense of humor and was loved by his friends and family.
He is survived by his brother, Louis P. (Lee) Lidik of Chicago; two daughters, Catherine (Ben) Ramirez and Pamela Lidik. He is also survived by five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, his dear friend Randa Smith and his beloved Beagle, Trudi. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Julius and Elmer.
A viewing will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Summers Funeral Home, Ustick Chapel, 3629 E. Ustick Rd., Meridian, Id 83713
As per Bill's request his burial will take place in Chicago. He will be laid to rest next to his mother at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois.
