Norma was born Dec. 3rd, 1931, in Emmett, Idaho at home to William "Bill" Hyde and Alta Hahn Hyde. She was the first of four children. Norma lived in Emmett most of her life, but also lived in Nampa and Boise as well. Norma worked many years at the Idaho State School and Hospital in Nampa. She then became a member of The Foster Grandparent Program. Her job title was affectionately, "Grandma Norma" to the school kids. She worked at Butte View Elementary in Emmett, Letha Elementary and Sweet Elementary Schools. She then worked at the Emmett Public Library assisting the Librarians; she was also the manager of the senior apartment complex she resided at Sunset Manor in Emmett. She loved taking trips, shopping, family picnics, "gossiping" (visiting) with friends and family as she called it, she loved "Her Buddy-Dog" which actually was Dwight's dog, but you couldn't tell that when he would be sitting in the front seat of her car every week at the McDonald's drive-thru where she went specifically to buy "Buddy-Dog" a cheeseburger which she would use to persuade him to go to her house and spend the night. Norma was married to James "Elwin" Wingate of Meridian, and then later married Phillip M. Jackson of West Virginia. She is survived by her son, Jimmy L. Wingate (Sharon), a daughter Lynnea J. Wingate Hire (Ellis) all of Emmett, her two other sons-in-law, Felix Anchustegui and Dwight Munger Sr., both of Nampa. Her sister Billie J. Hyde Munger ("Bud") of Emmett, and sister-in-law Beverly A. Hyde of Boise. Her great grandchildren: Kevin, Eric, and Julia Wingate of Michigan. Laura and Ian Phillips of Emmett. Meighan Anchustegui (James), Logan, Chase, and Hawley Schwisow, Amaya, Nekane, and Nataley Anchustegui all of Nampa. Tristen and Jaydin Spaeth of Rogue River, Oregon. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins. And a special friend, Naomi "Toby" Crosby, RN of Emmett. She was preceded in death by her daughter Janey M. Wingate Anchustegui, a grandson Jamie Wingate, her parents William "Bill" Hyde and Alta Hahn Hyde, her sister Lila J. Hyde Gardner, her brother Edward L. Hyde, her nephew Ricky L. Owens, and her niece Carol L. Owens Sedlacek. Friends and family may gather at a later date for a picnic to celebrate her life. The family wishes to thank ALL of the staff of Emmett Care & Rehab for the extraordinary care, kindness, and friendship to her and to our family. We would also like to thank Dr. William Vetter, Dr. Mathew Macha, and Dr. Sharon Oster for their exceptional care and kindness. I am so sorry to hear of Norma's passing. She was one of my mother's dearest friends for many many years. I can still remember Norma coming to get my mother so they could go have coffee at Alma's Cafe. They shared a lot of wonderful times together and my mother will miss her dearly.

I was saddened to read of Norma's passing. I will always remember her kindness to me more than 50 years ago when I got married. She helped me a whole lot during a difficult time. I still use the bowls that she gave me for a wedding present! And I still often quote something she told me about birthing before my first child was born - she was very astute! She and her sister Billie have always been two people I have been very fond of. I am sorry for your loss!
