A. William (Bill) Moulton 1931 - 2011 A. William Moulton, 79, of Meridian, passed away from complications of pneumonia at a Boise hospital Saturday, April 23, 2011. He was surrounded by his family. Bill was born May 26, 1931 at Letha, ID, the eldest son of William and Irma Moulton. He attended Wardwell School and graduated from Emmett High School in 1949. Following high school Bill worked as a smokejumper and attended Boise Junior College graduating in 1952; also graduated from the University of Montana with degrees in Business Administration and Law. He married Margaret E. Figgat in 1952 and they raised four children. Bill was active & held leadership roles in many different organizations throughout his early adult life-Band, Debate team & Student Body President in high school; Past Master Councilor, the first state Master Councilor in Idaho and received the Chevalier Degree, Legion of Honor, Cross of Honor and was a past Dad Advisor in the Order of DeMolay; National President of Intercollegiate Knights; attained Eagle Scout honor in Boy Scouts and President of the Boise Lions Club in the 1960's. During his life he worked in the title insurance business as a President, CEO, and Board chairman and formerly owned his own title insurance company in Boise and worked for other major title insurance companies in Washington, Idaho and California. He was a recognized expert in easement law and title insurance training areas. He served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves for 18 years during the Korean and Vietnam wars and was honorably discharged in 1971 with the rank of Lieutenant. He received the Navy Commendation Medal with a Combat V in 1971 for service in Vietnam and three Bronze Stars. He served on a submarine, intelligence and ammunition ships. He also owned two Black Angus cattle ranches in between his naval service times. Bill was a 50 plus years Master Mason of Boise Lodge #2, A.F. & A.M., member of Scottish Rite and El Korah Shrine. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling in and outside of the U.S., and reading. He had a life long love of the Old West. Survivors include four children, Valerie Aiken-Sievers of Boise, Brad Moulton of Meridian, Jennifer Blake of Boise and Steve Moulton of Emmett; sister, Barbara Cole of Boise; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as well as several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, maternal and paternal grandparents and an aunt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26 at Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett followed by burial at Emmett Cemetery, Chaplain Carol Brunlinter officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted by Boise Lodge #2 and military honors offered by the US Navy. The family suggests memorials to Meridian Care and Rehabilitation Center and the Boise Veterans Administration Medical Center.
