Alice Moore Obituary

Alice Mae (Freed) Moore 1918 - 2011 As she drew the last breath that God had granted her on Thursday, April 21, Alice Moore completed with grace and dignity a life of serving others. Attending to the needs of others was a trait that served her well as a Registered Nurse and as a dutiful minister's wife whose cheerful presence came to be expected at functions in the lives of churches in Washington, California, New Mexico, Utah, and Idaho. Alice earned her RN degree at Jefferson Medical College Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, near her hometown of Norristown. If a family member ever suggested a hike or a back packing trip, Alice's response was always an enthusiastic "Let's go!" She loved eating ice cream, entertaining in her home, and playing the piano, filling in as a pianist or organist many times in the churches pastored by her husband, Jim Moore. She is survived by her husband, Jim Moore and sister, Mary. Her surviving children and their spouses, Woody (Clarissa), Tom (Judy), Susan (Mike) and Alan (Julie) will miss her supportive smile; another daughter, Jean, preceded her in death as well as a sister, Marion. She leaves ten grandchildren: Annie, Brent, John, Jonathan, Kate, Kaye, Kelly, Libby, Nathan, and Teresa. Each of them will remember her fondly each Christmas with the hand-made stockings she and Jim designed and crafted for them when they were born. Within the last year and a half three great-grandchildren, Lui, Sam and Will, were added to the fortunate few who can say they share a family heritage with Alice Moore. Alice died peacefully after over 92 years of helping and uplifiting her family and neighbors. No services are planned at this time.

Thanks for the memories...
Remember when you all came up and we hiked to the top of a hill and Alice named it Church Hill?
I keep hoping that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.......
