Becky Lynne Nelson

Becky Lynne Breshears Nelson 1959 ~ 2011 Becky Lynne Breshears Nelson was born in Caldwell on February 16, 1959, and passed away on April 25, 2011. She was raised in Marsing and graduated salutatorian of her class in 1977. Following graduation, she worked for the Canyon Country Sheriff's Office. She married Gilbert (Gib) Nelson of Meridian in 1979, and they made their home in Abilene, TX, where Becky worked for the state school while Gib earned his Masters of Divinity. The Nelsons returned to Idaho, where they lived in Marsing and Homedale and Becky worked at the Marsing Elementary School. They later moved to Portland, OR, where Becky worked at Columbia Christian College until they returned to Texas in 1987. In 1997 the Nelsons moved to Moscow, ID, where Becky worked for the University of Idaho, and then finally they returned to Caldwell where she worked as a legal secretary in several different offices in Boise and Homedale. Becky was the first in her family to earn a college degree. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts degree in literature from the University of Houston at Clear Lake, where she was named the 1993 Outstanding Baccalaureate Graduate in Literature. In 2002, she finished her Master's degree at the same school and received the Banks Award for outstanding graduate writing. Becky loved to read and write, and she was an avid scrapbooker, genealogist, gardener, and yard-sale and antique shop enthusiast. She was a feeder of birds and animal-lover and was always ready to take care of those in need. Becky was preceded in death by her father, Charles LeRoy Breshears. She is survived by her husband, her mother, Arvylla Perfect Breshears of Caldwell, a brother, David Breshears and his wife Cyndi of Marsing, a sister, Charlotte Breshears Summer and her husband Scott of Nampa, and her much-loved dog, Lucy. Becky was the especially beloved aunt of four nieces, five nephews, and two great-nephews. Her friendship will be greatly missed by all the in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins and her many friends and Facebook friends who have been blessed by her presence in their lives. A memorial service will be held at the Caldwell Church of Christ, 10th and Ustick in Caldwell, Idaho at 3:30 pm Saturday, April 30, 2011.
