I know that this will be hard but I also know that the comforter is real and is very good at holding you all very tight for how every long you need him.

What a wonderful funeral service for David today. His 9 children all spoke and shared their personal feelings of their father. They, and their spouses, sang a wonderful arrangement of "Come, Come Ye Saints". The opening hymn was "Sweet is the Peace the Gospel Brings" ... referred to by David as his feelings towards his earthly life as it was coming to a close. The touching song, "Through the Eyes of a Child", written by David and recorded by himself in 1976, was played for all to hear. There were many, including myself, who wept. Louise was a wonderful example of love and graciousness throughout the entire day. My prayers will be for her as she faces the continuation of her life without her beloved companion ... until they are together again. May the Lord's choicest blessings be with Louise, the children, their spouses, and the grandchildren. David's legacy and example of love will live on forever in their hearts. I feel privileged to call David my friend, as well as my cousin.

My heart aches for Louise and her family. My brother in law, David, was a "really good" person in every way. I miss him very much and always appreciated his wit and wisdom and upbeat personality. You could never feel angry in his presence because he was such a positive person and made everyone feel included and happy. He is truly a saint and devoted disciple of Christ. I pray for peace and comfort for Louise and their wonderful family. I love you all.

I send my love to Louise and the Higginson family. David taught my daughter Joanna with great enthusiasm and encouragement, as he did me in my teaching career. I taught his chord course over the years with great success to my students and college students. He has left a legacy of love and joy to all. I will miss him greatly.

I am so grateful for Uncle David's example of faith and love. We are heartbroken that he is not here anymore, but we know that he was well prepared to go. We love him and we miss him. We are praying for Aunt Louise and all of our beloved cousins, his children. We love you all so much.
