Donald J. Moloney
1928 - 2013
Don Moloney passed away peacefully on April 6, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his 3 sons, after a short illness. Don was born to Joseph and Florence Moloney in San Francisco, California in 1928. He grew up primarily in Sacramento, graduating from Christian Brothers High School and Sacramento State. He married Sydney Sheehan in 1958 and they had 3 sons, Joe, Jim, and Peter. After serving in the Army, he began a long career working in the insurance industry, which brought him to Boise in 1968. In 1982 he and Syd bought Consolidated Insurance Agency, where they worked until they retired. They spent the following years being professional Grandparents and traveling. For many years he was an active member in Rotary. Don was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a passionate fan of the San Francisco Forty Niners, and the Giants. He was very proud of his family, and loved them dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife Sydney, his parents Joseph and Florence, and his older sister Patricia, and her husband John Aurely. He is survived by his 3 sons, Joe (Nancy) of Mountain Home Idaho, Jim (Mimi) of Oakland California, and Peter (Trish) of Arlington Virginia, and 8 Grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Carol and her husband Jack Bloomfield of Carmel California, and 10 nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on May 3, 2013 at St. Marks Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers Don wished donations be made to Catholic Charities of Idaho.
