Glora Heikkola Obituary

Wednesday, February 3, 2010, our mother, grandmother, sister and friend Glora "Gloria" Heikkola passed away with her children by her side. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 North Latah Street, Boise. Gloria was born May 27, 1931, in Gooding, Idaho to Walter and Leila Prince. She was lucky enough at a young age to meet the love of her life, Leo Allen Heikkola. They were married in September 1946. The pair traveled frequently during the early years of their marriage, but settled down in Boise in 1956, where they raised their four children. Gloria resided in this family home for the remainder of her life. She loved reading, gardening, crocheting, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed "cheating" at cards, spoiling her grandchildren, and playing with her little dog. She always gave a great hug and was a gentle lady. She will be missed greatly by her family and everyone who knew her. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Leo and oldest son, Ricky Allen Heikkola. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Tana Brown (Jay); sons; Mick Heikkola (Suez) and Leo Matt Heikkola (Ann Gjerde); daughter-in-law, Jerre Heikkola; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity or the Idaho Humane Society. www.relyeafuneralchapel.com
