Iona McFadden

Iona Grace McFadden June, 26, 1919 - April 6, 2011 Our mother, Iona Grace McFadden, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side. Iona was born in Daykin, NE on June 26, 1919. Mother was the oldest of four children born to Roy and Blanche Meyers. Her family moved to Boise in 1920. Iona married Jerry McFadden in 1938. They had four sons and two daughters and then divorced in 1960. Mother was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Blanche Meyers, her brother LeRoy, and both sisters Ruth and Margaret. Mother's hobbies included painting and working in the yard. She always had beautiful flowerbeds and plants. Mother loved to travel; whether around town or across the USA. She also loved to fly in anything from hot air balloon to commercial jet. She was fearless. Iona is survived by her six children. Patrick McFadden (Boise), Sharon Oxford (John) (Wash.), Dr. Michael McFadden (Julie) (Utah), Jerry McFadden (Utah), Tim McFadden (Judy) (Boise), Sally McDaid (Boise), 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A private service will be held at a later date. Iona will rest beside her sister Ruth and brother LeRoy at Dry Creek Cemetery. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her
