Irene Bevington Obituary

Irene Honstead Bevington 1916 - 2011 A celebration of life will be held in honor of Irene Honstead Bevington on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 2:30PM in the parish hall of Grace Episcopal Church, 411 Tenth Ave. S., Nampa ID 83651, where Mrs. Bevington was organist and choir director for more than thirty years. Irene Mildred Honstead was born October 27, 1916, to Sevren G. Honstead and Ada Peterson Honstead. Before her marriage she taught high school in Florence, Oregon. She married Frank C. Bevington on July 25, 1939. They resided in Nampa with their two sons, Clark and Alan. She was a gifted musician and music teacher for many years. She played piano and organ. In later years she purchased a concert harp studying with the renowned harpist, Mildred Dilling. Mrs. Bevinton passed away on March 25, 2011, at age 94 at Lifecare Center of Boise, where the staff made her declining years safe and pleasant. The family is grateful to these skilled and loving caregivers. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Frank in 2001, by her son Clark in 2008, by her grandson Phillip in 1993 and her sisters Helen Honstead Yound and Marjorie Honstead Fahr. Her other son, Alan H. Bevington, resides in Salem, Oregon, with his wife Marilynn Parish Bevington. Clark's wife, Connie, resided in Elma, WA. Irene is also survived by two grandsons: Timothy, who lives in Wellborn, FL, with his wife Kelly and his children, Jacob and Josephine. Her other grandson, Alan, lives in Hoguam, WA. with his children Taryn and Michael. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Alzheimer's Association. P.O. Irene was a child prodigy, gifted musician, elegant lady, and beloved mentor and friend. She set an example of true Christian living to all who knew her. May God bless and keep her.
