Jake was friend, mentor, and example. Earth's loss but heaven's gain. One of hardest working men I have known. It was a pleasure honor to know him.

What wonderful memories we both have of Jake and Vada over the years at Oregon Trail Church of God. The one I remember most was at a Valentines dinner we did and Jake came up to Vada and bowed down in front of her and on the top of his bald head he had someone write I LOVE YOU in red lipstick...Vada just loved it! And we all laughed and laughed. RIP Jake, We look forward to seeing you again someday xoxox

Today we say good-by to another of our family. I am so sad that I cannot be there with my cousins and family today. But we can all be together to celebrate a man with sparkling eyes and precious smile who worked harder than most men ever could conceive and had a caring heart bigger than his body. I will be with you all today in spirit and my love goes out to my cousins left behind...Jim and Cheryl.

So sad to hear of Jake's passing, but I know he is with his Savior and family he has missed so greatly. I will miss the genuine love and care he shared with me at church growing up. Lots of teasing in a loving way, there is just so much I will miss. We were always able to pick up where we left off when we saw each other again sometimes a few years in between. He was an inspiration to everyone around him and will be missed so, so much. You will be in our thoughts and prayers during this time of loss...faith to uphold you and loving memories to help you smile again. Sincerely with love, Sharon Engum Doughty
