James Crummett Obituary
James Crummett 1927-2009 James Crummett, 82 of McCall, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2009 from congestive heart failure. Services will be held on Saturday May 23, at 11 a.m. at the McCall Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Elo Road. Internment will follow at the Finnish Cemetery, Lake Fork, Idaho, under the direction of the Heikkila Funeral Chapel, McCall. Jim was born in Ontario, Ore. on April 21, 1927 to Frances Elizabeth Grauel and Fred Crummett. He was raised in Vale, Ore., the youngest of four children. He was the only surviving child after the death of his sister Addie Christine Grigg, in April 2009. He said he was the "Lone Ranger" and referred to his walker as "Silver". Formal schooling ended after the eight grades but learning never did. He completed a GED in 1977 to "finish high school" and encouraged all of his children to always continue learning formally and informally. Service during WWII was cut short by a medical discharge following a sever bout of Rheumatic Fever. Dad enjoyed flying airplanes, in his youth, working on various cars and dabbled with short wave radios. He married M. Irene Tucker of Vale, Ore., in 1950. Together they raised eight children. Jim worked for the Idaho Power Company in Pocatello, Homedale, Payette, and McCall, retiring after 35 years of service. Friends were made and cherished wherever he lived. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in several Bishoprics, was a wonderful Scout Master and in his later years was instrumental in establishing and maintaining the Family History Library in McCall. He had been active in the local Senior Citizens and Short Wave Radio Club. Jim loved to hunt and fish especially with family and friends. His favorite place to fish was 'No Tellum Creek". Jim's first wife Irene died in 1999. He was extremely fortunate to marry another wonderful woman, Beverly Brown Farnsworth, in February of 2005. They have enjoyed four wonderful years together. Between them they have 14 children, 50 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren (with three more on the way), and one great-great-grandchild. We are so grateful for the happiness and joy Beverly and her family have added to ours. We will cherish always your sense of humor, testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and love of family. Dad, you will be missed. Jim is survived by his children James (Kim) Crummett, Redding, Calif., Ron (Loree) Crummett of Boise, Idaho, Vicky (Stan) Martineau of Elmo, Utah, Debbie (David) Gilchrist of Orem, Utah, Sandra (Billie) Van Sickle of Boise, Idaho, Dan Crummett of Caldwell, Idaho, Susan (William) Jaussi of McCall, Idaho. Step-children; Valerie Brown of McGill, Nev., Dennis (Blanca) Carter of Mesa, Ariz., Faye (Neal) Thompson of McCall, Idaho, Frank (Tori Farnsworth of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Jonathan (Kellie) Farnsworth of Rathdrum, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his first wife Irene, daughter Lynn Peterson, granddaughters, Catherine Peterson and Susie Martineau, and Beverly's son Curtis Riley Carter. What a beautiful reunion they are having.
