James Raymond (J.R.) Kent Sept. 10, 1955 - May 10, 2011 James Raymond (J.R.) Kent died May 10, 2011 in Nevada of natural causes. He was born September 10, 1955 in Caldwell, Idaho to James and Betty Kent. He attended school in Marsing, Graduating in 1973. He was active in all sports. He Married Cynthia Howard in 1974. They moved to Glenns Ferry where they farmed for seven years. When his father died he came to Caldwell and took over Kent Brothers Trucking. To this union they had two children, James Roger in 1983 and Kimberly Corrine in 1985. J.R. married Catherine (Kay) Coba on May 1, 1993. They were married for 18 years. They were best friends, and enjoyed a happy life and very long roller coaster ride. J.R. was an avid outdoorsman, fishing, hunting, boating, and snowmobiling, to name a few. He Traveled to South Africa with his good friend Antone Gabiola, competing in The Camel Cup Challenge. He built the first jet boat course in the USA, and raced his boat for a few years, traveling abroad to New Zealand, and Australia making life-long friends. J.R. had a zest for life and a huge smile for everyone he met. He was always the center of any and all gatherings, and definitely the life of every party. He did not know a stranger; and every man, woman, and child he met seem to fall in love with him. He had such charisma everyone wanted a little to rub off on them. His daughter Kim, and his two beautiful granddaughters, Marissa Rose and Sharra James were the light of his life. His Favorite saying to hear was "Hi grandpa." J.R. will be missed by so many. Life will not be the same for anyone that knew him, without him in it. At the time of his death he was employed, driving truck for C.K.T. J.R. Is survived by his wife Kay, daughter Kim and husband Joey, two granddaughters Marissa and Shara, his mother Betty, sisters Shari Lankford, Trish (Allen) Kiester, brothers Corey (Bonnie), Brian (Lori) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Ross, and his son James Roger. As J.R. told us all "no one loved J.R. more than J.R." Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell on Wednesday May 18, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Services will be held at Deer Flat Church at 1:00 P.M. Thursday May 19, 2011 located at 17703 Beet Rd. Caldwell, Idaho. Interment will follow at Marsing / Homedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Marsing Disaster Fund, or the Marsing Phipps-Watson Community Hall.
