Jimmie Inama Obituary

Jimmie Duane Inama 1933 ~ 2011 Jimmie Duane Inama, 78, of Atlanta, ID passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Boise Veterans Hospital. Jim was born May 10, 1933 in Atlanta, Idaho to Leo and Louise (Schaeffer) Inama. In his formative years he was known as the "Huck Finn" of Atlanta. His carefree and mischievous antics eventually landed him an interview for "Our Gang", the iconic comedy was also known as "Little Rascals". His childhood and adolescence was spent between school in Atlanta, Carey and Boise. At 18 years of age he joined the service and spent two years as a marksman on the American Rifle Team. At the conclusion of his military service he returned to the mining industry in Cobalt, Id. In 1956, he drove to his home town of Atlanta for a hunting trip. It was during this visit that he met Patricia McConnel, the new teacher in Atlanta. He quickly relocated to his childhood home and the two were married the following June. The marriage would span 55 years and the couple were blessed with four sons and one daughter. The young Inama family would spend time in Grants, New Mexico, Yellow Pine, Idaho and Grandview, Idaho before making their final move back to Atlanta in 1984. Jim was a hard rock miner by trade and built a reputation as an expert in the field. He also owned and operated a hunting and fishing guide service for a decade that opened the Sawtooth mountains to sportsmen across the nation. He was generous and good natured and his knack for yarn telling will be greatly missed. He is survived by Patricia, his wife of fifty five years; sons, Joe, John, and Jim all of Atlanta and Jay of Homer, Alaska; daughter, Jana Inama of Idaho City; sisters, Judy Isgar of Boise, Ellen Carlson of John Day, Oregon; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. No services are planned at this time.
