Joyce Johnson Obituary

Joyce Marie Johnson 1943 - 2011 Joyce Marie Johnson, 67, of Meridian passed away Friday, May 13, 2011, at a Boise local hospital. Joyce was born November 2, 1943 in Cascade to Bud and Helen Petersen. She graduated from Cascade High School in 1962. She married Johnny T. Johnson in Cascade on October 5, 1963. Joyce worked at the Bank in McCall until she and John moved to Post Falls where they both worked for Boise Cascade in the house moving business with Joyce working as a flagger. Later they moved to Boise where she worked at various businesses as a bookkeeper until she retired in 2000. She and John enjoyed traveling through the US, Australia and New Zealand but especially enjoyed the warm climate of Arizona in the winter. She loved browsing flea markets, craft fairs and admired handiwork. She enjoyed bowling for many years, snowmobiling and golf. She is survived by her husband John of Middleton, brother Duane Petersen (Donna) of Cascade, sister Darlene Morgan (Jim) of LaGrande, OR, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rosie and George Yanskey of Meridian, Step brother Bob (Patricia) Scott of Cascade and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Helen in 1977, father Bud in 1992 and step mother Iris Petersen in 2011. Memorial services will be held May 21, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Summer's Funeral Chapel in Meridian (3629 East Ustick). In lieu of flowers please send memorials to the Finnish Church through Heikkila Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 2369 McCall, ID 83638 or a memorial of your choice.

Johnny,Darlene,Duane and family,
I am so very sorry to hear about Joyce. We just heard yesterday of her passing.
I have memories of her growing up in Cascade when she was in Jobs Daughters..May God give you peace and lighten the sorrow in your hearts..She was such a wonderful person and will be missed by many.
