Larry Morrison Obituary

Larry Gene Morrison 1943 - 2011 Larry Gene Morrison, 67, of Payette, Idaho, died Saturday, May 7, 2011 surrounded by loved ones. He was born October 11, 1943 in Oakland, California, to Bobbie and Wanda Morrison and was the oldest of three siblings. He is survived by his wife, Connie Morrison; son Jerry Morrison and fianc?e Ashley Stockholm; son Derek Morrison; daughter Kala Ekstrom and husband Brad Ekstrom; and his siblings, Barbara Korba and husband Dan Korba and Linda Nicol. Larry Morrison was preceded in death by his former wife, Stephanie Morrison, and his parents, Bobbie and Wanda Morrison. After high school, Larry enlisted in the Air Force from 1962-1966, where he worked as an airplane mechanic. During his time in service, he spent two years serving in Vietnam. After the Air Force, in 1972, Larry attended Fresno State University in California where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Finance. Upon graduation, Larry worked for several years building spec homes in Clearlake, California. After that, Larry began a hot tub company called, Close Encounters of the Wet Kind, where he worked for several more years. Larry then found is talents in the title business, where he managed multiple title offices in Northern California, Idaho, and Washington. He remained a title officer up until his retirement in 2005. Larry enjoyed the riches that life had to offer. He would spend his free time golfing, playing pinochle, cooking, hunting, and racing motorcycles. He was a life time member of the Elks Club and the Lions Club as well as the chair person for the Lake County chapter of the American Red Cross. When Larry wasn't out and about you could find him sitting in his chair with a large bag of peanut M&M's. Larry Morrison was a hardworking man, a beloved husband, and a cherished father. Despite hard times, he maintained an optimistic view of life that radiated out to everyone he encountered. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed. Place and time of funeral service to be announced.
