Lawrence Person Obituary

Lawrence Donald Person 1923 - 2011 Lawrence Person passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on April 25, 2011. Funeral services will at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2011, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Ontario, Oregon. Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth. A visitation and viewing for family and friends will be from 4:00 - 7:00, Thursday April 28, 2011 at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to the family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Lawrence was born in Payette, Idaho on March 13, 1923. He was the son of Hilbert and Alice Person. He married Larraine Schamber on June 19, 1949, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Ontario, Oregon. Lawrence and Larraine had three children, Rosanne (Emil) Kolar of Meridian, Mel (Terri) Person of Fruitland, and Valerie (Monty) Olson of Payette. Lawrence went to work for Idaho Power Company shortly after his discharge from the Navy. He retired after 36 years of service in 1985. He and his father- in- law built a house in Fruitland which was home for the next 47 years. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, husband, and friend. We will miss him terribly. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife (Larraine), a sister (Marcella) and a brother (Norman). He is survived by his best friend and brother (Wallace Person) of Payette, a wonderful sister and nephew (Madelyn and Dale Goodell) of Independence, Oregon, his children, eight grandchildren (Timbra, Melanie, Ryan, Kaela, Kim, Matt, Carrie, and Luke), and thirteen and a half great grand children. The family would like to thank Heart and Home Hospice for their loving care during some difficult times. Memorials may be made in Lawrence's name to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or Heart and Home Hospice c/o Shaffer Jensen Memory Chapel, PO Box 730, Payette, Idaho 83661.
