Mary Lou (Lessinger) Clements 1930 ~ 2011 Mary Lou (Lessinger) Clements, 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Emerson House in Garden City, ID. A celebration of her life will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at First Baptist Church, 607 N 13th Street.? Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel. ? Mary Lou was born on October 12, 1930, in Boise, ID, the daughter of Louis T. and Anna Kruger Lessinger.? She grew up in Nampa, ID, graduating from Nampa High School in 1948.? After graduation, Mary Lou headed off to the University of Wyoming to pursue her teaching degree and to marry a cowboy.? Instead she met and married Fred Clements, a mechanical engineering graduate, on March 25, 1951.? Together they raised four wonderful children: Kathy, Karen, Rick, and Diane.?? After many happy years of being a devoted housewife and mother, Mary Lou went back to college to complete her degree.? She received her BA in elementary education from Boise State University in 1970 and began her 12 year career as a kindergarten teacher at Monroe and Cole Elementary Schools.? She was an active member of First Baptist Church and P.E.O. Chapter AT.? She also enjoyed watching the BSU Broncos play and went to many football and basketball games.? She established the Clements Family Scholarship Fund at BSU in honor of her late husband, Fred.? ?? Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Kathy (David) Ulrich of Mesa, AZ; daughter, Karen (Terry) Lowder of Boise, ID; son, Rick (Luisa Magaly) Clements of San Antonio, TX; and daughter, Diane (Steve) Hollington of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Jennifer Ulrich (Eric) Bellows, Justin Ulrich, and Jared Ulrich of Mesa, AZ, Lisa (Dave) Rudduck, Nicholas (fianc? Brandi Estrada) Peinecke of Seattle, WA, Clay (Andrea) Clements and Chris (fianc? Roya Mohebpour) Clements of Houston, TX, Andrew Hollington and Ryan Hollington of Tucson, AZ; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kaden Bellows of Mesa, AZ, as well as many, many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred; and her sister, Barbara Brown.? The family suggests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Boise or Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. ? Visitation will be held Friday, May 20 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel.? Graveside services will be held Monday, May 23, 10:00 a.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery.? Mary Lou loved the Lord, all her family, and her wonderful caring friends.? Her strong Christian faith touched so many and her beautiful smile lives on forever in our hearts!!
