Patricia (Patty) Mae Howell
1957 ~ 2013
Patricia (Patty) Mae Howell, 56, of Boise passed away suddenly on October 25 in Lewiston. She was born September 24, 1957 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lewiston, and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1975. She moved to Boise in 1978, where she worked at Boise Cascade and Morrison-Knudsen before earning her realtor's license in 1991 and beginning a successful career in real estate. She worked with Holland Realty until 2009, after which she worked with Better Homes and Gardens 43 Degree North Real Estate. She specialized in new construction and residential lot sales. After managing several subdivisions for her husband's company, Kevin Howell Construction, she partnered with him in their homebuilding company. This was her true passion; she loved being involved with home design and working with new home buyers. As in everything she did, she was highly successful in this role, and this was reflected in the growth of the company. She was well known and respected throughout her career for her integrity, ethics, and care for her clients.
Patty met her true soul mate Kevin Howell in 1997, and began dating him in 1998. They were married on Valentine's Day, 2000, in Maui. They were an inseparable couple who lived life to the fullest.
Patty loved traveling with her husband and her constant companion Sierra (a Bichon Frisee) to favorite locations such as Hawaii and Arizona. She was an enthusiastic fan of BSU football, and enjoyed a wide range of activities, including home decorating, golf, reading, and video poker. A vivacious, caring person, she loved socializing with friends and family, and taking care of Kevin and Sierra.
Patty will be profoundly missed by her loving husband Kevin Howell; father Robert Grant of Lewiston; brother and sister-in-law Russell and Karla Grant of Hayden Lake; sister Lynette Ellis of Spokane Valley, WA; brother and sister-in-law Stacy and Rose Grant of Lewiston; brother Tracy Grant of Couer d'Alene; by nieces and nephews Clay and Holly Grant, Tabitha and Jake Ellis, Zachary and Brianna Grant, and Cody and Casey Grant (her godsons); her step-daughter Tracey and grandchildren Hailey and Davey Hamilton Jr (DJ); her father-in-law Art Howell, sister-in-law Sherry Williams, and brother-in-law Mark Howell; by her beloved dog Sierra; and by a wide circle of friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her mother Berditta Grant in 2012 and her mother-in-law Dona Howell in 2007.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. (viewing from 12:00 to 1:00) on Friday, Nov. 1, at Vineyard Church, 4950 N. Bradley, Garden City, followed by interment at Dry Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Idaho Humane Society (www.idahohumanesociety.org).
