Phil D. Stewart
1935 ~ 2013
Phil D. Stewart, 78, of Boise went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday October 26, 2013. He was born on January 24, 1935 in Buhl, Idaho to Frank and Betty Stewart. He married Marie Reeb on December 23, 1955 and they were blessed with three children: Dena, Troy and Lynna. He was in the 11th airborne division of the U.S. Army from 1955-1958. He was stationed in Germany, where his first daughter, Dena was born.
After his time in the service, he moved to Boise. He was a member of the IBEW and retired after 35 years with Ada Electric. His family came before himself and he always wanted to care for others. Phil loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Troy. He was also extremely adventurous and he loved exploring new territory with his son-in-law Mason. He had a creative mind and always tried to come up with new, successful inventions. He also had a green thumb and always loved working in his garden.
Phil had a love for life and a wonderful sense of humor. No one could be around him and not have a smile on their face. He was always telling stories, reciting old sayings, or singing around the house. He will be truly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his first born Dena and parents Frank and Betty. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie, his son Troy and wife Linda, daughter Lynna and husband Mason (fuller), his grandson Mitch and wife Lindsay, granddaughter Stori, great-granddaughter Paisley, his sister Coleen and brother Jim and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of his life at 2pm on November 2, 2013 at Bridgepoint church, 2530 Broadway Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Phil's name at the St. Luke's Cystic Fibrosis Center of Idaho Pediatric, Boise, ID 83712.
