Roberta Vivian Laragan
1920 ~ 2013
Born in Ontario, Oregon to Wilbert Kelso and Vivian (Taylor) Kelso on 9/07/1920, She attended grade and high school in Nampa, later living in Caldwell and Boise. She worked at the Caldwell Cannery, V.A., Mtn Bell, and a variety of other jobs during the war. She was also a former Miss Caldwell.
She married Marcey M Laragan and two children blessed their lives-Whitney Kay and Greg M. Laragan. She then settled down to being a mother & homemaker full time in their home in W. Boise. She filled her time keeping busy with school & sport activities of her children, ISPE Women's Auxiliary, St. AI's Hospital Auxiliary, and mostly going dancing and traveling with her husband.
In 1974, her husband passed away and she started a career at Margene's in Nampa and Boise. She then enjoyed the perfect job and her love of clothes. She loved dancing at the Elk's Lodge and Eagles and the wonderful people she met along the way. For the past 4 years, she has been a happy resident of the Bridge at Valley View Assisted Living in Boise.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Marcey; mother, Vivian in 1927; parents, Wilbert and Corrine Kelso; sister, Marilyn Elmore; in-laws, Marcelino (Maria) Laragan; Joe (Flora) Laragan, Gene (Rita) Hillis, Francis Wallace.
She is survived by her children, Whitney Kay (John) Brozovich; son, Greg M. (Cris) Laragan; sister, Jo Ann (Fred) Corey, all of Boise; brother-in-law, George Elmore of Bakersfield, CA; sister-in-law Carmen Wallace, of Stony Brook, Long Island, NY; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins,
Private family graveside services will be held at Cloverdale Memorial Park on April 4th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Legacy Hospice, Humane Society or
in her name.
