Ruby Jantz Obituary

Ruby L. Jantz 1920 ~ 2011 Ruby L. Jantz, a daughter given by the Lord to Reuben and Irene (Becker) Peaster, was born on a farm near Holcomb, Kansas, on February 26, 1920, and passed on to Glory early morning on April 23, 2011, at a care facility in Boise, Idaho, following three and one-half years of declining health due to a stroke and dementia. Today we rejoice in the knowledge that she has passed the barrier of time as we know it and has entered the gates of Heaven and is at home with the Savior she faithfully served since early childhood. In 1937 she married Harry Jantz in Garden City, Kansas, who preceded her to Glory on April 1, 1991. From 1956 until his death they owned and operated Harry's Crankshaft Service in Dodge City. The business was later sold and Ruby moved to Boise, Idaho, to be close to her son Larry. She joins many family members that preceded her in death that include her husband, Harry; sisters, Betty Ratzlaff, Helen Wiehebrink; brothers, Jerry, Bill, Lloyd, and his twin, Floyd who died shortly after birth. Those surviving are her son Larry, and his wife Judy; grandson, Dr. Gregg Jantz and wife Lafon, and their children Gregg and Benjamin; granddaughter, Lynne and her husband Glen, and their children Abby, Brock, and Oliver; and sister, Mary Ann Schmidt of Spokane, Washington, along with cousins, nieces, and nephews. Prior to her move to Idaho she was a long-time active member of the First Missionary Church in Dodge City. After her move to Boise she became a member of the Boise New Hope Church of the Nazarene. She and Harry were involved many years with the Gideon's International. Ruby had a heart for the Gideon's and a real enjoyment was to place Bibles with nurses and in hospital rooms. The Church and Gideon's was the focus of her life where she served faithfully and displayed the Christian graces which today so richly bless our memories. For his entire life Larry remembers her as always praying for him and always studying the Word of God. She was committed to provide a Christian heritage not only to her son but to her extended family as well. Judy, Larry's wife, remembers her for her steadfastness, her beautiful spirit and unconditional love. Ruby will be remembered by her granddaughter Lynne as a prayer warrior and her unselfish giving. She kept giving money away and God kept giving her more. She'll spend eternity meeting those who were touched by her generosity. Grandson Gregg remembers her as always including a Bible verse on her cards and letters that made mention that God is faithful. A memorial service will be held in Dodge City at a later date. Interment will take place then at Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Gideon's International at http://www.gideons.org or to your local Gideon Camp. Cremation services and pre-planning have been provided by The Cremation Society of Idaho. www.cremationsociety-idaho.com
