Samuel Dean Pope, Jr. 1962-2011 Samuel Dean Pope, Jr., of Boise and Pine, passed away on May 20, 2011, due to a massive heart attack. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at the South Fork Senior Center in Pine. Please come and share your favorite memories of Sam with us. Sam was born November 11, 1962, in Mountain Home, to Cherie and Sam Pope, Sr. Sam also known as Sammy and Junior to friends and family was a very outgoing and caring person. If someone was feeling down, he would give them a big bear hug, and lend them an ear. His sense of humor kept everyone laughing, and he will be missed very much. His greatest joy was his daughter Samantha. He was the proudest dad ever, and loved her dearly. He enjoyed and excelled at golf, fishing and playing pool. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears. He was employed at the Elk Valley Resort in Pine. Sam is survived by his mother Cherie, daughter Samantha, wife Darla, brother Mike, sister in-law Pam, nieces Angie and Renae, Angie's children Makenna and Jaden, and our dog Buddy Love. He was preceded in death by his best friend and dad Sam Sr., and his grandparents. In lieu of flowers, Sam would appreciate any donations to the Pine-Featherville EMS, 16 E. Trish, Pine, ID 83647.
