Dennis Allen Lee
1943 ~ 2014
Dennis Allen Lee, of McCall and Boise, Idaho was born June 1, 1943 in Williston, North Dakota to Edward and Hazel Lee. He lived there until he entered the U.S. Army directly after high school in 1961. After being honorably discharged from the Army in 1962, he attended the University of North Dakota, graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1966. He started his career in sales for Cummins Engine and later New Holland. He and his wife, Laura, married on November 2, 1968 in Garden City, Kansas. They moved to Boise, Idaho from Denver, Colorado in 1973 where Dennis served as the General Manager and partner of Mountain View Equipment Company in Meridian, Idaho. He built the dealership into the largest New Holland dealership in the world in the late '70's. He later became a financial advisor with Edward Jones Investments in 1982 where he worked for the remainder of his career, until 2002.
Dennis was well loved by his family and many friends, with whom he spent much of his time. He was known for his great sense of humor, and was always ready with a great story or a good Norwegian joke. He challenged many and rarely lost an argument. He was an outstanding salesman who could convince most people of anything and was recognized for his skills in every position he held. Dennis especially loved spending time in McCall, snowmobiling with friends and entertaining a near constant stream of guests. But his real passion was his grandchildren, whom he loved to watch play and grow.
Dennis passed away in the early morning on Saturday, April 26th in McCall, Idaho. He is survived by his wife, Laura, his daughters Erica (Alec) Sarrazolla and Melissa (Arne) Lee-Klubberud, daughter-in-law Susana Amigo, grandchildren Kyle and Jackson Sarrazolla, Anders and Nils Klubberud, and Sabrina Lee. He is also survived by his sisters Betty Bergstrom, Nyla Jean Ekblad and Velma Lou (Kenneth) Iverson, sister-in-law Elna Lee, and many nieces and nephews who have been more like brothers and sisters to him. He is preceded in death by his son, Darren, parents Edward and Hazel, brothers Odin and Melvin, and sister Myrtle Cartwright. There will be a viewing at Summers Funeral Home, 3629 E. Ustick Rd., Meridian on Friday, May 2nd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 3430 N.
