F. Orval McPeak
1929 - 2014
F. Orval McPeak passed away on July 1, 2014 at his beloved home.
Orval was born July 21, 1929 in Dietrich, Idaho to Ronald L. McPeak and Dorothy Moore McPeak. Shortly after he was born the family moved back to Kansas and returned to the Boise Valley in 1939. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1947. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean War in 1950 and served until 1952. He started farming with his father and continued on until the untimely death of his father in 1958. He married his longtime sweetheart Kathryn Smith on April 18, 1954 and they celebrated 60 years together this year. They started their married life on North Linder Road and continued living there during the 60 years. Orval always said there was never a better neighborhood to live and work in. Both he and Kathryn are so grateful for their wonderful neighbors. His entire life was spent farming and his hobby was work. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Howard McPeak and his sister, Geneva Bates. He is survived by his loving wife Kathryn McPeak; nieces and nephews: Ronald McPeak, Mike McPeak, H. Orval McPeak, LaFern Jackson, Charles Bates, Darla Crespin, Karen Kennedy, Beverly Zuniga, Dave Smith, Doug Smith, Jeff Smith, Terri Smith-Fahrner, Lori Neddo, Wendi Homan, Kenny Smith; sister-in-law, Pat Smith and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
Services will be held today, Thursday, July 3 at 10:00 AM at Meridian United Methodist Church, 240 E. Idaho Avenue Meridian, Idaho with burial to follow at the Meridian Cemetery.
