1934 - 2014
Norma Jean Bolton, age 80, of Meridian, Idaho, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Monday, July 7, 2014 due to the rapid progression of myelodysplastic syndrome. She was born in Carbonado, WA on July 6, 1934; served in the Navy in San Diego; lived throughout the United States including Washington, Hawaii, Connecticut, Idaho and Oregon; traveled the U.S and World with various family members including Puerto Rico, England, Australia, and many European countries. She graduated from Boise State University. She was a certified Master Gardener, starting at a later stage in life, and enjoyed writing, walking the beach, riding her bike, reading, Mahjong and making friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bertha; her brother, Bob; her sister, Joanne; her great-grandson, Tyler. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kara Downing (Steve) and Janet Kostechka (Paul); her brother, Joe and sister, Lora. Her grandchildren, Kaia, Keala (Celeste), Karilu (Icher), Krystelle, Zachary, Kip (Chrystal), Kyle (Justine) and Kimberlee; and her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kalei, Moani, Kahei, Keala Jr, Karli Rose, Kyler, Janessa, Duncan, Alexander, Holden, and Calder will greatly miss their "Nana". A memorial service will be held Friday, July 25, 2014, 11am, at Saint Aloysius Catholic Church, Buckley, WA followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment, with military honors, 2pm at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington D. C. Memorials:
