Kristen Sue Micheletti
Kristen Sue Micheletti, loving wife and mother, passed in tragedy on Sunday, July 20th, to enter into the memory of her creator. She leaves behind her husband Randy and two sons, Daniel and David. Preceding her in death was her precious daughter, Michelle Nicole, who was killed in another tragedy in 1989, at the tender age of 14 months. She is also survived by her mother and father, Jackie Mattke-McFarland and David McFarland, and younger siblings Kim and Rick.
You are invited to hear her story and celebrate her life at Alden-Waggoner's Funeral Chapel, located at 5400 W. Fairview Ave, Boise, ID. A visitation is scheduled for Monday, July 28th, from 5 - 6:30 p.m., with a memorial service to follow. An additional service will be held in Illinois, where Kristen will be laid to rest next to her daughter Michelle.
The immediate family encourages anyone, whether you knew Kristen intimately, casually, briefly, or not at all, to come and hear of her tremendous courage and to celebrate her life. I, as her husband, promise it will touch your heart as well as tear it open.
A major accomplishment of her life was the passing of a bill into Illiniois law that required everyone to keep children in their car seats. This same bill was voted down two weeks prior to the death of her daughter from a tragic car accident where Michelle was removed from her car seat by her paternal grandmother. She testified by sharing her story, in a way that only she could, at an Illinois congressional hearing, which resulted in the bill being passed. Consequently, she was featured on Good Morning America and received an award from the National Highway Traffic Safety Council in Washington D.C.
After graduating from Illinois State University, she had a 30 year career in healthcare marketing and held positions along the way at Easter Seals, St. Francis Health Plans, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Alphonsus Medical Center, and Sutter Health.
Along with numerous national awards for excellence in healthcare marketing, she also developed and launched a brand image campaign for St. Alphonsus Medical Center, "The Minds, The Medicine, The Miracles", winner of 15 national awards. Also, the hospital was named "Best Practice" client by HealthGrades for quality award ranking in marketing and communications.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations for funeral expenses, or asks that you make a donation in Kristen's name to
