Vincente O. Echevarria 1929 ~ 2012 Vincente O. Echevarria, age 83, of Boise, Idaho passed away on September 12, 2012. Vince was born in San Sebastian, Spain and grew up fishing with his father and brothers on the ocean. Vince also made fishing nets. He then started boxing and became Welter Weight Champion of Spain. In 1955, Vince came to Boise, Idaho to continue his boxing career. He lived in the Letemendi Basque Boarding House where he met Valen Letemendi. They married had three children, Miren, Danny, and Tony. In 1960, he became a barber; first at The Blue Bird Hotel, then on Main Street for 25 years, and finally ended up in Hyde Park for 38 years! Vince was a legend in the Boise Hyde Park area. There, he touched hundreds of lives! Vince had a very colorful and loving personality! He will be greatly missed! Vince is survived by his children: Miren, Danny, and Tony; his grandson, Joe; brother, Hossaawn; and sister, Arantza. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012 at St. John's Cathedral. A reception will follow the services in the church basement. Private family burial will be at Morris Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel.
