Peggy Strother, of Hillsboro, Oregon, passed away October 22, 2013 after a long battle with breast cancer. Graduating from the University of Oregon School of Nursing in 1968, Peggy always was more than willing to lend a helping hand for those in need. Even in the midst of her sickness, she was an activist in the community, participating in events such as 'Paint the Town' for years.
Peggy also traveled the world as a flight attendant for United Airlines. She had seen the ancient ruins of Rome and went on safari in Africa. After having her three children in Boise, Idaho, she gave up her career with United; focusing on her family instead.
Mrs. Strother, as many young adults knew her, became a substitute teacher for the Meridian School District as well as the art teacher for Chief Joseph Elementary. She inspired many lives, impacted many others, and was adored by all.
Peggy is survived by her children Michael Lucas, Matthew Brian, and Katherine Elizabeth.
Her memorial service will be held at the Meridian Friends Church, Monday, November 4th at 10 AM. The church is located at 1021 W. Pine Ave., Meridian, ID 83642. The family asks that instead of flowers, donations be made to the
