1931 – 2016
Eleanor Adamson, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at her home in Meridian, Idaho, surrounded by her family. She was born June 26, 1931 in Los Angeles, California to Alfred Lockington Bleak DDS and Rachel Atkin Bleak. Eleanor grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from the University of Southern California in Dental Hygiene. Eleanor married Welcome Wayne Adamson DDS on December 20, 1950 and became the mother of 3 beautiful children.
Eleanor loved to sew, knit, crochet, and enjoyed cooking. She enjoyed music and the arts, and was admired by all who knew her. Over her lifetime, she knit over 1,000 winter caps for Humanitarian Services and indexed over 110,000 names for the Family History division of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and took special care to create meaningful and lasting memories for her posterity. She had a delightful sense of humor and loved to travel.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Clawson Bleak (Mary Jane) and Ralph Bleak (Jean). She is survived by her loving husband, Welcome, children Thomas Adamson (Gaye), Janet Gutierrez (Rex), Crista McCord (Mark), 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3775 E. Ustick Road, Meridian, Idaho at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 11, 2016. In lieu of flowers, donations to Eleanor's favorite charity, Operation Smile can be made at operationsmile.org.
