Aemmer, Bertha - North Canton
Bertha Mary (Daugintis) Aemmer 85, of North Canton went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. Bert was born Jan. 20, 1931, in Akron, Ohio to the late Albert and Annie (Minor) Daugintis. Bert reunites with the love of her life and best friend of 54 years Wallace Harry Aemmer. Bert and Wally were blessed with a large and loving family. She will be greatly missed by her five children, Virginia Aemmer of Scottsdale, Ariz., Wallace H. Aemmer Jr. of Akron, Elizabeth “Tanny” Thompson of Canton, Deborah (David) Boyce of Charleston, S.C. and Luann (Anthony) DiMarzio of Charleston, S.C. That family of five gave Bert (Grandma Boo, as she was affectionately nicknamed) and Wally their greatest blessing; nine grandchildren, Billy, Matthew, Charley, Derek, Joey, Bobby, Michael Dan and Marimae; along with 13 very special great-grandchildren. Bert selflessly devoted her life to her family-never missing an event, hosting numerous sleepovers, taking weekend road trips, spending hours playing board games, and making her famous waffles for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace; brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Leona Daugintis; and son-in-law, Richard Thompson. The family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 at Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW North Canton, Ohio 44720 from 3 to 5 p.m. with a service to follow at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are to be made to Akron Children's Hospital, Walk for Babies, PO Box 191 Kent, Ohio 44240 or at 2016walkforbabies.kintera.org The family invites you to visit www.reedfuneralhome.com to read the obituary sign the online guestbook and share fond memories.
