Fierstos, Larry Spencer - Massillon  
Larry Spencer Fierstos December 23, 1942-June 23rd, 2016 age 73 of Massillon, Ohio, passed away after a lengthy illness under the loving attention of Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born in Massillon to the late Ethel (Humphrey) and Lawrence Fierstos. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and William Fierstos, and an infant son, David Jude Fierstos. Larry loved his family and is survived by his wife, Paula (Podbielski) Fierstos, to whom he has been married to, for over 52 years; daughters, Susan (Jerome) Markoch, Amy (Timothy) Ringley, and son, Mark (Megan) Fierstos; four grandchildren, Benjamin Markoch, Caroline Markoch, Spencer Fierstos and Aiden Fierstos; two sisters, Barbara (Bill) Lose, June (Rudy) Scheiderer; two brothers, James (Polly) Fierstos, and John (Bev) Fierstos, and many nieces and nephews. He is a retiree of over 40 years, at the Hoover Company, where he enjoyed working as a technical group leader with the engineers who launched the Elite automation project in 1988. He took pride in overseeing operations of the automated front wheel assembly, brush lacing, agitator assembly, motor line, and automated material handling systems. Larry was a member of St. Barbara's Roman Catholic Church; singing in the choir and volunteering with the cleaning “Holy Dusters” committee. He was also an amateur ham radio operator (KC8RKU) and had a passion for wildlife, hiking, and photography. Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home located at 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, Ohio 44646 (330-833-3222). Flinner, Joe - Canton  
Joe Flinner Age 67, formerly of Canton, passed away at his home in Hudson, Fla., April 22, 2016. Preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Derle Flinner; brothers, Ricky and Bobby. Survived by his wife, Carla; stepson, Jerry Thomas II; brothers, George (Fran), Bill (Joanne); sisters, Marlene Delong and Debbie Flinner; aunt and uncle, Marlene and Loyal Scott; several nieces and nephews; six adopted grandchildren. Memorial services will be 11 a.m., June 25, 2016 at Dueber United Methodist Church, 645 Dueber Ave. S.W., Canton, with calling hours at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.

Franklin, Pauline Willie - Massillon  
Pauline Willie Franklin age 90 of Massillon, departed this life on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. She was born Sept. 24, 1925 in Crenshaw County, Ala. The second oldest girl born to Thomas and Mary (Gunter) Russell, she moved to Massillon as a child. She lived and enjoyed most of her life in Massillon, staying the last several years with her daughter in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Massillon City Schools graduating from Washington High School in 1943 where she met and married her high school sweetheart Willie J. Franklin in 1943. They were married for 50 years; he preceded her in death in 1993. Always active in the home, she enjoyed caring for her family, gardening, cooking, and caring for her animals (chickens, dogs, and ducks). She spent her early years as a health care aide, leaving this position to become a full time mother. She was a devoted member of both St. Paul's Church of God in Christ and later Morningstar United Holy Church; she was a dedicated Christian and enjoyed serving her God and church and never tired of learning and understanding more of the Bible. Although physical restrictions limited her ability to participate physically, she continued to expand her biblical understanding and knowledge through listening, reading, and watching ministers like G.E. Patterson and others. Surviving her are her sons, Walter Franklin of Woodland Hills, Calif.; Maurice and Dennis Franklin of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a daughter, Lydia Glaude of Cleveland; one brother, Walter Russell of Massillon; two sisters, Viola Williams of Cleveland, and Inez Allen of Massillon. She was known as ‘Grandma I Know' to many of her five grandchildren. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, one of which is due to be born this month. She was also blessed with many loving friends and acquaintances; she will sorely be missed. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Morningstar United Holy Church with Elder Michael Clemmons officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
