There truly are angels but they don't always have wings. We call them loved ones who have been lost to us from earth, but never lost to us in our heart. It is with great sorrow that we report the passing of our amazing loved one, Anthony Moore Jr. Anthony Lamar Moore Jr. was born Feb. 18, 1995. He departed this life Monday, April 16, 2012.
Anthony leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Kimberly McCollum and Anthony Moore Sr.; sisters, Kierra McCollum, Linda Brown; grandparents, Willie and Wanda McCollum- Dotson, Lillie Moore, Michael Burt, Craig (Shavonda) Massey, and Kathy (William) Hall; great-grandparents, Fannie McCollum, Henry, and Dorothy Massey. He is also survived by a host of aunts, cousins and friends. Anthony accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the Living Faith Church under the leadership of Pastor Victor Moore. He loved and respected the leadership and was deeply loved and respected by them. Anthony attended McKinley Senior High School. He possessed a great love for his family. He loved playing basketball and going to sporting events with his grandfather, Willie. He inspired his cousin, Tayron and often tutored him with his schoolwork. He shared a special bond with his cousins, Monique McCollum, Adam Moore and aunt, Summer Massey; his best friends, Tae Miles, Chris Cook, Sam Burton, Deandre' Hurd, Delode Baylock and Antoinette Clasberry. He touched the hearts of many and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him especially his Aunt Tiffany and close friendm Kalena Davis.
Not, How Did He Die,
But How Did He Live?
Not how did he die, but how did he live? Not what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth of a man as a man, regardless of birth. Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed? But had he befriended those really in need? Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer, To bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say, But how many were sorry when he passed away.
Family and friends will be received at 1573 Gateway Blvd. SE and 1624 Plain Ave. NE. Funeral services will be held at L.I.F.E. Ministries International Church, 2651 Market Ave. N. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday from 10-11 a.m. in the church.
