Cody Michael Smith
age 16, of Perry Twp. passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013. He was born in Canton on Jan. 22, 1997 and was currently a Junior at Perry High School. Cody attended Perry Christian Church and had enjoyed playing baseball and football. He loved his video games and the outdoors and was an avid hunter and boater. He will always be remembered as a loving and caring son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, nephew and cousin. Cody will be deeply missed and never forgotten. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny L. Smith on Nov. 30, 2005 and his great-grandmother, Dorothy Smith.
Survivors include his loving mother, Julie Smith-Geiser; sister and best friend, Kali Smith; brother and best buddy, Colton Geiser; uncle, Ricky Stalder, who thought of Cody as his own son; aunt, Kelly; and cousin, Peyton; great-grandparents, Richard Sr. and Lois Stalder; grandparents, Richard Jr. and Diann Stalder and Thomas and Brenda Smith; aunt, Cynthia Brown and uncle, Matthew Smith.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW, with the Rev. Rod Geiger officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
