Galen Clark Culler
81, of Beloit passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Canton on Jan. 23, 1932, the son of the late Beulah VanVoorhis. Galen worked as a pipefitter for Columbia Gas and was known by many working with West Branch School's maintenance department. Galen enjoyed being and working with his friends, especially Brian. He liked to go camping with his family, golf, bowling, billiards and shuffleboard.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Markle of Westerville, Ohio, Linda Murphy of Damascus; a son, Daryl Culler of Beloit, 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, Sarah, Elijah Markle, Hannah (Ben) Mars, Josh (Renee) McDonald, Travis (Candice) McDonald, Dakota Murphy, Courtney Culler, James (Haley) Culler, Nicole (Eric) Stull; seven great-grandchildren Maria, Sophia and Jackson McDonald, Gage, Madison and Mya Definbaugh, and Marcie Stull. He is also survived by a brother, Richard (Cheryl) VanVoorhis. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Darlene L, (Steele) Culler whom he married on Jan. 22, 1956 and who died on Oct. 27, 2011.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. and the hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
