Glenn E. Snyder
Age 83, of Navarre, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Country Lawn Center. He was born in Louisville, Ohio Sept. 14, 1930, to the late Frank and Ruth (Davis) Snyder. He was a Louisville High School graduate and then went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for four years. Glenn married Gaylia Agnes on July 19, 1952. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 38 years of employment. He was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ of Navarre, where he served on various committees and boards for many years. Glenn was a member of Clinton Lodge #47 F.&A.M., Hiram Chapter #18 Royal Arch Mason, past High Priest Canton Council #35 Royal A Select Masons, Massillon Commandery #4, past Commander, and Ancient accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Canton 32nd degree.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Dale, Tom, Violet Baltz, and Vera Hureless, and great-grandson, Christian Dittmer. Glenn is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gaylia (Agnes) Snyder; daughters, Gina Snyder, Gwen Amstutz; grandchildren, Ashley (Jamey) Groetz, Cole Dittmer, Drew Dittmer, and Alexandrea Amstutz; step-grandchildren, Dan (Becky) and Amber Amstutz; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn (George) Bunce; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to The Inn at University Village, Country Lawn Center, and Crossroads Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Glenn. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ of Navarre (21 Wooster St. NW, Navarre, OH 44662) with Rev. Elaine Tullis officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow in Union Lawn Cemetery of Navarre. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Glenn's name to Crossroads Hospice (3743 Boettler Oaks Dr. Suite E, Green, OH 44685-6227).
