Herman M. Archer
age 95, died Thursday. Born in Noble County on Oct. 16, 1917 to the late Andrew and Minnie (Warner) Archer he had lived in Canton since after World War II. Herman was a World War II Army veteran serving under General George Patton in the European Theater. He had been a farmer, worked at Carnegie Steel, and ended his career at Canton Drop Forge. Herman enjoyed trapping, hunting and the outdoors during his younger years.
Survived by three sisters, Alverna Schwallie and Luella Hanlin of Canton and Mary Spencer of Louisville and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Everly and a brother, Wilfred Archer.
Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Fr. David Menegay officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army. Condolences may be made to:
