Joe Z. Curcio
Age 67, a longtime resident of Canton, Ohio, died Feb. 8, 2013, in Huntington, W.Va., after a period of declining health. He was born to the late Frank and Hester Curcio on Aug. 17, 1946. During his time in Canton, he was a dedicated employee of the Massillon Independent. He returned to his birth state of West Virginia in 2004. He was a selfless and caring father and husband as well as a loyal and faithful friend who touched the lives of everyone with whom he came in contact. He loved fishing and being outdoors and also enjoyed going to the movies but found his greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Curcio; son, Andy Whitt; and brother, James "Jimmy" Curcio.
He is survived by his daughter, Pam Warner of Chesapeake, Ohio; sons, Frank Curcio and Michael Curcio, both of Canton, Ohio, and Randal Whitt of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandson, Chad Curcio of Chesapeake, Ohio; and sisters, Diana Geyer, Kathy Hall, and Anna Marie Curcio. He is also survived by former wife and dear friend, Connie Haynes; and stepmother, Jeanette Curcio.
Private services will be held at his request.
