Karen Louise (Sneddon) Paxson
75, peacefully passed away Saturday evening, April 5th at the Salem Regional Medical Center, Salem, Ohio after an
extended illness. She was born Nov. 23, 1938 to William and Ruth
(Moore) Sneddon in Greenford, Ohio, was baptized and attended Salem's Holy Trinity English Lutheran Church and graduated from Salem High School in 1956.
She worked for a number of years as a bank teller and loan officer for several banking institutions in the Canton area including GenFed and Hoover Company Credit Unions.
She was an avid golfer at Firestone Country Club, Shady Hollow Country Club, and Salem Golf Club, as well as a proficient bridge player on a number of leagues in Canton and Salem.
She is survived by a brother, Charles (Coletta) Sneddon of Pickerington, Ohio; her husband, Gary Paxson; a daughter, Debra Paxson of Salem, Ohio; a son, Allen (Dawn) Paxson; and three grandchildren, Alyssa, Nicolas, and Amanda all of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sandra (Sneddon) Blair, and two brothers, James and Earl Sneddon.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 291 South Broadway Ave., Salem, Ohio. A memorial service will follow with Pastor Alan Smearsoll officiating. A private burial will held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
