Katherine (Knight) Green
was one of twin girls born on March 11, 1931 in Dale County, Ala. to the late John and Polly (Wilcoxon) Knight. She was one of 13 children and is preceded in death by 11 siblings; one son, Anthony, and one daughter, Norma Ann. Katherine grew up and married in Dale County then relocated to Canton, Ohio with her children. She held a variety of jobs, the most recent as a Senior Aide for Stark County, providing assistance to needy seniors. In the early 50s she was baptized in the Lord's body and was very active in her local Church of Christ congregation until her illness and death. Katherine REALLY enjoyed fishing and had numerous stories of how the big one escaped her and her sons while sitting on the riverbanks. She loved studying God's word and read her Bible daily. She also enjoyed bowling and spending quality time with family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Kate Hendrix of Decatur, Ga. and Mattie Formen of Canton, Ohio; five children, Marie Canty of Inkster, Mich., Robin Green of Canton, Ohio, Stanley Green of Canton, Ohio, Kenneth (Linda) Green of Elgin, S.C., and Clintonia Green of Rochester, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; several great- great-grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 12 p.m. in Northwest Church of Christ, 3904-38th Street NW, Canton, Ohio. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service from 11 a.m. until the time of service at noon in the church. The Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
