Linda Ann Elsass
Age 73, of Canton, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. She was born in Canton, Ohio on Jan. 21, 1941, to the late Dale and Betty (Hulit) Myers. Linda was a 1959 graduate of North Canton Hoover High School and was long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church of North Canton. She was an avid camper, bowler, card player, and taught couples country line dancing. Linda also enjoyed flower gardening, watching her cardinals, and enjoying summers in her pool.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Charles Michael Lear; sister, Kathy Valot, and niece, Darcy Valot.
Linda is survived by her husband of forty years, Larry L. Elsass; children, Laurie (Alan) Maas, Kris (Judy) Elsass, Lon Elsass, Mike Elsass, Dan (Ilenia) Elsass, Delilah (Terry) Hoffman, and Marty Kuemerle; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; over 250 foster children, and sisters, Sally (Dan) Willaman and Lana (John) Angiulo.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church (349 Lindy Lane Ave NW, North Canton, OH 44720) with Pastor Mark Sherwindt officiating; a luncheon will immediately follow the service. Friends may call one hour prior, from 2:00-3:00 p.m., at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Linda's memory to the Aultman Compassionate Care Center (2821 Woodlawn Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44708).
